Zoom is an American company specializing in the field of communications. The main office is in California. The company offers programs that allow to use chat, conduct conferences, work together in a mobile mode.
The company has been working since 2011 and had difficulties with investments at first but managed to attract $3 million in the same year. The program was launched in 2013 and by the end of the spring it had already gained 1 million users. Partners were found for joint activities, inter alia, Teambox. Together, they were able to offer the product "Working with Zoom". Then Vaddio, Logitech, InFocus joined in. InterviewStream, a handy tool for business communication in a remote mode, was launched.
The features were gradually extended, Microsoft Active Directory, SSO was integrated. It became possible to join meetings if desired, version 3.5 allows sharing mobile screen. 10 million users were already using the software in the summer of 2014, less than a year later there were 40 million users. When making changes, the modern capabilities and technologies are taken into account - the continuous injection of funds allows to do this.
As of 2020, there were 200 million users, the price of shares had risen by about 72%, and the company itself had gone public. The relevance of the software grew due to Covid-19 because quarantine measures were required to be followed.
